I want to take some computer hardware on an international flight. I’m wondering if anyone has done this, or knows about doing so. Specific questions are:
Would it be best to pack it in my main luggage, or take it in the cabin?
Could a hard drive be damaged by x-ray detectors?
Could such equipmemt (particularly a hard drive) come under suspicion for being a bomb? (Maybe I can show it to them myself…)
Any advice appreciated!

I worked as a computer tech for a couple of years back in the day when 286, 386, 486 and so on was still kicking ****. The technology was moving staggeringly fast. I mean pc’s went from 486 to Pentium, mmx, p-pro and so on within a matter of a year. You couldn’t count on your new pc to be on the market even for a couple of months. But now it seems that technology is moving so slowly. I have a P4, 3GHz pc that I bought 2 years ago. I know the new duel core processors are on the market, but I can wait now before I buy one, knowing that the price will go down and there won’t be to much of a change in hardware for pc’s. Is there new technology that will change everything again and when do we see this. I mean cd’s, dvd’s and so on is old news. What’s next?
